About this painting
Painted for a competition with the theme of Moving, this depicts the precarious ecological position of the tiger.

A tiger leaps yet stays still. Made from rock but also alive, and yet leaping towards the sunset and the eclipse of extinction. A falling figure reinforces this message. The larger black arc and the black sphere divides the picture, making it the abstract shape of a tiger's head.

Technical details

Good quality leaping tiger images are not easy to come by so I made this up from studies of many images, including pet tabby cats.
