About this image This image was created to represent an underwater city akin to the one in the H.G.Wells story, The Abyss. The interplay of the soft cool greens and blues create the feel of lights in the deep ocean, lights of a vast city or of myriad deep sea creatures. The sudden fade to darkness adds remoteness and a sense of depth.

Technical details A vertical motion-blur effect was used to create the illusion of rising vapours.
