About this painting
This is a painting about software piracy, in particular the sadness and helplessness of software developers to combat this form of scavenging.

A scarecrow stands in a field of mud, powerless to prevent the circling crows from taking the wheat.

Technical details
This is the second version of this picture. In both versions the scarecrow is painted in a loose style, but the sky is darker in this second version and the crows which had to be painted in one attempt were shaped more realistically. Unlike the first version the rain was added while the paint was wet causing some beneficial blending.
