About this image This picture was created soon after Halo 1. Fading from cyan blue to a lilac grey, the white glowing ring of this image creates the effect of an exploding star. The hot outer layers are blasted away from the centre at increasing speed.

Technical details Radial motion-blur was used to create a dramatic inward motion, a sense of zooming forwards.
