About this painting
This large picture about the depletion of fish stocks was painted for a local competition with the theme of "nature".

The mood of this picture is sadness, almost reminicence. A line of fish swims towards the setting sun, one represented by a hole in one of the clouds. The black and white stripes of this invented fish species compliment the cobalt blue sky. On the floor, a fish made of sand lies cracked in the desert, lit by the last ray of the setting sun.
