Footsteps SFXPack Released

A new Footsteps SFXPack has been released. Every character that walks needs a footstep sound, and these need to vary depending on the surface and context of the game. It's also important that each step is different to ensure variety and realism. This SFXPack supplies lots of basic footstep sounds, with layers and additional effects to easily create variety and allow quick modification for different surfaces.

Mobile Sounds Released

A new sound effects set, Mobile Tones has been released. Full of mobile sound effects, for phones and apps, the set includes ring tones, notification noises, loops for things like scrollbars and lots of extra control indicators. The set is part of our normal sound sets so comes in mono and stereo wav format.

New SFXPack Released

A new SFXPack Pickups is now available, a new collection of effects in spj format as used by SFXEngine. The pack includes a wide range of useful sound effects, from synthetic arpeggios to mechanical clunks, electric upgrade sounds to layered magic spell sound effects. As with any SFXPack, there is lots of variety here so that the 20 sounds in the pack can be quickly modified in SFXEngine to create a vast array of sound effects.

New Music

December 1 2009

Four new royalty free music tracks are now available on the music page. Blue Zone is a laid back track in the Ambient category. Race The Sky is a fast paced Action track, and Rainbow Days and Rotorua Adventure are light bubbly tracks for the Casual Game Music category. As ever with new releases, any track will be available for exclusive use until the first copy is sold.

IndieSFX 2009 Sale

The IndieSFX 2009 sale is now on. For this month only all bundles are discounted by an extra 25%, making the total discount 50% compared to the cost of the individual sound sets. The Full IndieSFX Library (which includes all future releases) is reduced to £199 ($399, or 299 euro). This offer ends on December 1st.

Pickups 2 Released

A new set of sound effects, Pickups 2 has been released. Designed as both an expansion set to S026C and a stand alone set, this pack is full of the most common sort of sound in games; player notification noises. The sounds here can have a real-world feel, with sliding objects and grabs and drops, but there are plently of sparkles and specific abstracted noises for things like magic spells and general bonus effects too.

Free Pickups With Genre Bundles

For a limited time the "S026C Pickups" sound effects set will come as a free bonus with any order for a Genre Bundle. This offer expires at the end of the month. A second set of pickup sounds is due later in the year.

New Release: Melee Weapons

May 28 2009

To expand our weapons packs a new set, Melee Weapons, has been created. This set contains all-new bladed weapon effects with variations, trap sounds, bows, punches and other hand-to-hand combat sounds. Sets now exist for hand guns (S008C), space weapons (S023C), and hand to hand weapons. As part of the IndieSFX grand plan for a complete specialised game sound effects library, this set will soon replace the earlier set Knightlore which contained a mix of dungeon sounds.

SFXEngine Offer

For this month only, all orders for our sound effect software SFXEngine will come with all nine SFXPacks. The software alone normally costs £50 (US $95) and the Complete SFXPacks cost £54 (US $108). This offer ends on the 31st of May and applies only to copies of SFXEngine Pro.

Animal Sound Effects Released

A new set of animal sound effects, Creatures has been released. Getting high quality animal sounds is always difficult but care was taken to keep the quality high instead of filling the pack with common and inferior sound effects. As ever, the sounds are all clean and distinct, and animals that often appear in Hollywood films make an appearace, such as the eagle scream of the red tailed hawk, swamp frogs and crickets, as well as classics like a lion roar, dogs, sheep etc. Monster effects like slugs and snakes, and some human grunts are included too.

New IndieSFX Music

The first release of 2009 is a set of three new IndieSFX Music tracks. All in the Action category; Opticon is a catchy arcade theme, Orcslayer is a dramatic heroic theme, and Diarylide is an electronic race of a tune.
